What is a background remover?

Which files can I upload?

Is the exported background really transparent?
Yes. PNG and WEBP both carry an alpha channel, so the area around the subject is empty. JPG cannot store transparency, which is why it is not offered as an export format.
Does it handle hair and fur?
Switch the edge detail to hair and fur. It runs a finer pass on the outline and keeps strands that the standard mode would smooth away.
Will the photo lose quality?
No. The cutout is written back at the resolution you choose, and nothing is upscaled or re-rendered. Only the background is removed.
Can I remove backgrounds in bulk?
